$100 Room Challenge: Kids Bathroom
Happy January! I hope that you had an amazing holiday season and that your year is off to a great start.
I took a couple of days off to relax and enjoy some time with family and friends here at home. I'm official 35 weeks pregnant expecting our second baby and over the moon to meet our baby girl soon. As we wait for her arrival, I've been keeping myself busy getting her room and house in order for her arrival.
One of the rooms that I'm concentrating on updating this month, is the kids bathroom. I've been so focused on finishing up the new nursery (coming to the blog soon!) that I had completely forgotten that I still needed to update the bathroom as well to accommodate all the things that a newborn needs.
So with the new year comes the start of another $100 Room Challenge. If you've been following me for a while, then you know I love participating in this challenge where it allows me to update/refresh a space in my home for $100 in just one month. Before I share what my plans are for this bathroom refresh, let's take a look at what the space currently looks like:
We quickly decorated this space right before my son was born 3 years ago and haven't touched it since. it doesn’t look bad, just know that we can make it better. We since then have updated the wall color throughout our home and this bathroom is the last remaining space we still have to paint. Goodbye beige! Another plus about painting this room is that the builder used a really low quality paint, so any little scratch or ding shows and the only way to fix it is by touching up the wall with paint. We plan on using a higher quality paint that will allow us to wipe the wall clean rather than having to constantly touch it up.
GOALS FOR THE KIDS BATHROOM:
Paint walls to match the rest of our home.
Clean and refresh the trim by painting it high gloss white.
Re-caulk along the tub and sink.
Update shower curtain for a more dramatic look.
Clean and organize under the sink cabinet and drawers so it's not a complete mess!
Update shower head.
Install a new toilet paper holder.
Update decor - make it pretty and functional to store all things baby and toddler!
