$100 Room Challenge, Week 2: Powder Room Inspiration

**This post may contain affiliate links, please read my full disclosure here.**

Since deciding to join the $100 Room Makeover challenge hosted by Erin over at Lemons, Lavender, and Laundry, I have been scouring the internet for some inspiration. In case you missed my previous post, the $100 Room Makeover challenge is where you give a room in your home a little makeover with $100 and you have one month to complete it.

I actually started the challenge a little late as we are already in week two! EEEKKK!

As soon as I heard about the challenge, I knew that I wanted to tackle the half bathroom in our home. It is a super small space and I have been dreaming about giving it a dramatic makeover for a while now.

By dramatic makeover, I mean I wanted to go for something completely different than the rest of my home. If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am in the process of painting most of my interior walls "Natural Grey" by Behr. But in this room, I wanted to go dark. Really dark.

So this week I have been busy selecting the paint color and painting the space so that I can get to the fun part of decorating!

Before I tell you the color of paint that I selected, let me show you some of my inspiration:

The more I searched for inspiration, the more I was convinced I needed to paint the powder room navy blue. Now this was no small feat because I had to convince my hubby that it wouldn't make the space too dark. After showing him a couple of million pictures of my inspiration, he finally caved and I purchased a gallon of "Very Navy" by Behr from Home Depot in an eggshell finish that very same day!

I absolutely love how this color looks in the space. It really makes the whites POP without making the room feel dark and small. No sneak peaks this week as I am still in the process of finishing up painting!

So now that the walls are mostly painted, I get to concentrate on the good stuff. The accessories!

I have plans for repurposing the shelves on the left to help decorate and provide storage above the toilet. These shelves previously lived in my dining room but I recently replaced them with a plate gallery wall, so they have just been sitting in my closet! I think the wood will help add warmth and color to the space against the navy blue walls.

I also have plans for the biggest wall in the room to add a gallery wall. I found this awesome frame set from Amazon that I think will work great.  I like that the matting is white so that it will help keep the space light. And the best part is that the entire set is $33.98! I am on the hunt now for some free printables to bring some quirkiness into the space with the pictures.

The Budget:

One gallon of Behr Premium Ultra in Eggshell Finish in color Very Navy: $30.98

Gallery Wall Picture Frame Set: $33.98

I have spent a total of $64.96 which leaves me with $35.04 to hopefully add some fun accessories and towels!

For next week:

I have a couple of DIY's that I want to get done, so it is going to be a busy one for me! I will be tackling the mirror and the light fixture. So excited to share more of the space with you next week!
